In the relentless race of life, the quest for work-life balance is on everyone’s radar. We at Sovereign Realty + Management know just how important it is. I’m thrilled to announce that our hard work has paid off – earning us a coveted spot on the Atlanta Realtors Association’s ‘Top 10 Top Producers List‘! This prestigious recognition doesn’t just highlight our exceptional performance in the real estate industry; it also demonstrates our unwavering commitment to finding that elusive balance between work and play.
Achieving the Top 10 in real estate was a goal I had for years. It all started when I attended the Awards ceremony in 2015 after achieving Top Producer (formerly Multi-Million Dollar Club) status. Seeing the production numbers of the Top 10 in units and volume was awe-inspiring and fueled me to continue to create a business that could succeed in any real estate economy. That night, hearing our name and walking up to receive the award for our Sovereign Team, landing in at #8 out of over 14,000 members, is a moment I will never forget.
People often ask me, “Karen, how do you manage everything?” My response remains consistent: I don’t do it all – I have an incredible tribe, and together we make it happen!
As you may know, Sovereign Realty and Management is a family business specializing in incoming producing real estate assets. If we’re not family by blood, we’re work family through a sovereign connection. We have carved out a successful niche in the competitive Atlanta real estate market. Our success stems from hard work and finding the right balance between work and life outside of it.
Last year, I faced considerable challenges while serving as the President of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association. It was a historic year for the organization as the first African American owned brokerage to hold this position. The honor and accomplishments brought immense pride, but admittedly, it was tough and time-consuming – and I loved every minute 💜.
Maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life requires prioritization and communication. I actively schedule family vacations, couples-only getaways, and date nights well in advance. I lean on my family, my tribe of fellow mommies, our Sovereign tribe and my tribe of Realtors to keep me focused on those key areas of my life. My actions serve as a living example for my team members, embodying the journey of living the Sovereign Life ®.
For instance, late-night office or work from home hours are designated for vital tasks only, preserving more time for family gatherings during weekends. Or having a flexible work schedule or the opportunity to work from home as needed. This commitment to balancing professional performance with personal lifestyle enables Sovereign Realty’s team members to flourish both at work and home.
This doesn’t come without its challenges, and sometimes I need a nudge from my spouse that I can and should take the liberties to live sovereign by taking things off my calendar when needed. Lol, but I guess that will always come with the territory when you love what you do.
