This is exactly what we see in the presidency of Brianne Drake. As the first African American to lead the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR) in its 106-year history, her leadership represents a landmark milestone for our profession.
By electing Brianne, GAR’s leadership embraced a step toward a more inclusive and representative future. Her presidency stands as a testament to the fact that our industry is at its best when it reflects the diverse communities we serve and those who have earned the seat should be elected for the seat.
Brianne’s signature theme, “We Are One,” serves as a North Star for the REALTOR® brand. It transcends any single term or year, offering a permanent reminder that our collective strength is our greatest asset. This theme is reflected in our REALTOR® “purple party” approach to advocacy and should serve as a foundation that we continue to build on.
While Brianne’s title made history, her impact is best felt in the way she paves the way for others. True leadership is about ensuring the path is wider for those who will follow behind.
Brianne was the person who asked me to get involved in serving at GAR back in 2014, and I am honored to serve as Regional Director under her leadership. Throughout my own professional journey, she has been a steadfast REALTOR® champion and leader who understands that when one woman succeeds, the entire industry rises. By consistently advocating for women in real estate, Brianne has fostered a culture where mentorship and support are the standard.
To Brianne: Thank you for your courage, your vision, and your unwavering commitment to lifting others as you climb. Your leadership serves as a reminder that while history is made in a moment, its impact endures forever.
