Why I’m Proud of Our Role in Atlanta’s Affordable Housing Future

Affordable housing isn’t just a business priority for me—it’s personal. Purchasing my first home at 26 changed my financial future.  As CEO of Sovereign Realty + Management, I see daily how access to affordable, stable homes transforms lives, strengthens families, and builds lasting community wealth. That’s why it means so much to have our work recognized in the recent HouseATL Partnering for Affordability Homebuilder Toolkit.

This toolkit is more than a resource—it’s a call to action for builders, nonprofits, and city leaders to come together and solve one of Metro Atlanta’s biggest challenges. I’m especially proud of our contributions to  Model 3, the Homebuilder-Initiated Mixed-Income Development, which integrates affordable homes right alongside market-rate units and partners closely with nonprofits to ensure these homes serve those who need them most.

We believe that building affordable housing isn’t just about construction—it’s about collaboration, innovation, and commitment to equity. By working hand-in-hand with nonprofit partners, leveraging incentives, and embracing creative financing, we’re helping to create communities where everyone has a chance to thrive and build generational wealth.

This recognition is a powerful reminder that real change requires all of us—builders, nonprofits, policymakers, realtors and community leaders—working in unison. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, but the work is far from over. We must continue to push boundaries, challenge outdated models, and invest in solutions that deliver both quality homes and economic opportunity.

If you’re passionate about closing Atlanta’s homeownership gap, I encourage you to explore the full HouseATL Homebuilder Toolkit. And if you’re ready to partner with a team that’s committed to making affordable and missing middle housing a reality, then I’m here with my team at Sovereign to lead and collaborate.
